The history
Humble started as a small railroad and farming community in the early 1900s, but everything changed with the Humble Oil Field discovery in 1904. That oil boom put this once-quiet area on the map and helped fuel Houston’s rise as an energy capital.
The city officially incorporated in 1918 and grew alongside nearby Houston, keeping its own identity while benefiting from regional expansion.
